Frittmann wines win seven gold medals at the Kunság Wine Region Wine Competition

The best wine of the 25th Kunság Wine Region Wine Competition was Frittmann Cabernet Franc Selection 2020, the best wine of Soltvadkert Town was Frittmann Ezerjó 2022, and seven of our wines won gold medals.

Kunság wines are becoming more and more sought-after both nationally and internationally, especially among the younger age group - this was the conclusion of the 25th Kunság Wine Region Wine Competition organised by the Kunság Wine Region Council in Kiskunhalas. The wine competition was held according to international evaluation criteria, and the submitted batches were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals by the jury. Committees of 5-6 members evaluated the colour, aroma and taste of the submitted white, rosé and red wines and spirits.

Best Wine of the Town of Soltvadkert: Frittmann Cabernet Franc Selection 2020
The area where our Cabernet Franc plantation is located provides outstanding growing conditions. The effect of the forest soil and the modern plantation structure is enhanced by very low yields resulting in one bottle per vine. This is a rich, full-bodied red wine, which at the same time retains the fruity character typical of the Kunság wine region, even with the extended ageing in small barrels.

Soltvadkert Town wine: Frittmann Ezerjó 2022
Ezerjó is our most versatile grape variety. We present it in several different styles in our portfolio, but the aromas and characteristics of the grape variety can be most clearly appreciated in this reductive version. In 2021, Soltvadkerti Ezerjó received protected designation of origin status, which is a guarantee of international competitiveness and high quality.

Overall seven of our wines won gold medals in the competition: Frisecco Irsai 2022, Olívia 2022, Generosa 2022, Cserszegi Fűszeres 2022, Ezerjó Selection 2018, Cabernet Franc 2020, Cabernet Sauvignon-Franc 2020.
